Year 2 Fire Safety Awareness
Class two have been learning how to keep safe from fire. We have learnt to keep matches and lighters “ out of sight, out of reach, out of harm. They have found out that smoke alarms can be fitted by The Derbyshire Fire service Free of charge and should always be tested on “Test It Tuesday” They know how important it is to have a family fire plan just in case of emergency and that doors can be checked for fire on the other side by testing the door handle, that smoke rises so to crawl under it, and that if they are trapped in a room to open the window and shout out, making as much noise as possible. We also practices “stop, drop and roll” to out fire if it takes hold of clothing. Hopefully we never need to use what we learned but we are all now prepared just in case.
